Closing Date for Submissions on RDC Long-term Plan

  • Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

Every three years councils in New Zealand are required to produce a Long-term Plan. Previously known as the ten year plan (or LTCCP - Long Term Council Community Plan) the plan is now simply called the Long-term Plan. It covers a horizon of ten years and will be apply from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2022.

The Long-term Plan is the most important strategic document produced by the council as it sets out the direction for the organisation, lists activities and projects, details what they will cost and how they will be funded, identifies mechanisms for measuring the councilâ??s performance, and signals levels of rates. But before the Long-term Plan is set in concrete all residents and ratepayers have the opportunity to tell the council which parts of the plan they support or those areas where their views differ.
