Bullying: what, who, why, when and how (to fix it)
Dr Janis Carroll-Lind is the Principal Advisor (Education) at the Office of the Children?s Commissioner. The education arm of the Office of the Children?s Commissioner aims to (1) provide positive outcomes for schools and students by maintaining students within the education system; (2) reduce barriers to learning that are created by conflict between schools, students and parents; and (3) improve relationships between early childhood centres or schools and the community. Janis conducted the Office?s Inquiry into the Safety of Students at School. Currently Janis is on leave from Massey University College of Education where she lectures in inclusive education across all early childhood, primary and secondary teacher education programmes. As a registered teacher, her practitioner experience has included working as a senior teacher in primary schools, Playcentre supervisor, teacher of a special education unit, adjustment class teacher for students with behavioural difficulties and a resource teacher special needs.
