Youth Building Global Connections
» 04/08/2010, Posted by Diana BeattieMany young people in Rotorua have had the opportunity to connect with students from other countries either as hosts or visitors overseas. Sister Cities NZ is committed to increasing the engagement of young people in the Sister Cities Organisations. A Steering Group of young people has been established to promote opportunities for young people within the Sister Cities networks and beyond. The intention is that this Steering Committee will extend to a national network of young people.
To find out projects young people would like to be in involved in to engage with young people in their Sister Cities, a workshop is being held for all interested groups with a youth focus (youth is 12-24). Young people need to bring along their ideas for projects so that we can facilitate them becoming a reality:
9 August 2010, 10.00 am to 2.30pm, Committee Room 1, Civic Centre, 1061 Haupapa Street, Rotorua District Council.
Please RSVP to Sue White on 350 0209 ext 8115 or sue.white@rdc.govt.nz
