Call for Applications for Te Wananga Whakairo Rakau - National Carving School

New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute are seeking applications for the 38th intake for Te Wananga Whakairo Rakau (the National Carving School). Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old and be able to demonstrate a competency in handling chisels, and have an ability and willingness to interpret and understand the theory component of this course.

While individuals are required to complete the application form in full, it is recommended that they are supported by tono from tribal authorities, marae committees and whanau.

To maintain the standard and quality of graduates, places are strictly limited to 5 people or less per intake.

Applications close on 1 November 2010 at 5pm.
