Scholarships - Te Arawa Fisheries Seafood Training Programme

$1,000 grants are available for training in 2011 for people interested in working in the seafood industry as a deckhand, seafood processor, marine tourism operator or fisheries officer.

The scholarships provide $1,000 towards the costs of the 26-week Bay of Plenty Polytechnic course to obtain a Certificate in Maritime and Fishing Technology Level 3 from 14 February - 9 September 2011.

The course programme includes seamanship, sea survival, deck safety, personal health and safety, watch keeping, navigation, seafood processing, fire fighting and first aid.

Applications are open for a limited time.
