Ara Taiohi Appointments

Sonya Hogan has been appointed to the position of Executive Officer with Ara Taiohi, the new national umbrella organisation for people who work with young people. Sonya has significant experience in youth and community development both in New Zealand and overseas. Much of Sonyas work has focused on child rights advocacy, organisational and programme development and capacity building.

Andrea Leersnyder will continue in her capacity as Youth Week Coordinator. Youth Week (previously coordinated by NZAAHD) runs from 21-29 May 2011 under the banner STEP UP! Be heard, Take responsibility, Be YOUth, and Andrea and the Youth Steering Group from White Elephant Trust in Christchurch have already been hard at work.
