Training Opportunity - Agents of Change Workshop

» 29/03/2011, Posted by Site Admin

The Agents of Change workshop will be held in Taupo on 14 - 15 April is run over two days and will focus on the role that youth workers play as agents of change in the lives of young people, in our communities and within the structures and organisations that we work for/within.

The workshop begins with reviewing our understanding of youth centred practice, and then uses a case study to look at how we both hear from young people and use the information that we gather to enlist young people in change processes.

This workshop is of interest to anyone who works with young people and their families in some way in our community. The workshop is part of the Tohu National Diploma in Youth Work series, but it does not matter if you are not enrolled to complete the full National Diploma in Youth Work - each workshop is open to people other than Tohu students.

Dates: Thursday 14 and Friday 15 April, 9.30am to 4pm each day.

Venue: Central Plateau REAP, 73 Titiraupenga St, Taupo

Cost: $224 (incl GST) - Note that the Department of Internal Affairs operates the Youth Worker Training scheme that you can apply to for financial support for courses such as this.
