RISE is an exciting project for young New Zealanders to carry out their own youth mental health awareness project. RISE aims to increase youth mental health awareness and is about empowerment and the opportunity for young people to promote mental health and wellbeing to other young people.
RISE gives young Kiwis (up to 20 years old) the opportunity to carry out a project promoting mental health and wellbeing for young people. Grants of up to $1000 are offered for individuals and up to $5000 for groups. Projects are youth-led with adult mentors supporting grant recipients through the process of applying and carrying out their project.
RISE is a project of the Werry Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health workforce development programme. The Werry Centre aims to increase the numbers and help develop the people that work with young people with mental health issues.
Applications for Round Four of RISE are now open, and close at 5pm Friday 30 September.
A RISE information sheet is attached, and further information (including a stepped process for developing an application) can be found on the RISE website at: www.rise.org.nz
