The Taupo Youth Offending Team together with Taupo District Council invites your participation in this exciting forum!

An opportunity to hear some of our nationally renowned experts providing best practice models and research around young people and offending.

DATE: Wednesday 8th October 2008

TIME: 8.45 a.m. ? 5.00 p.m. (day forum with all presenters)

7.00 p.m. ? 8.30 p.m. (?A night with the Judge? ? Judge Andrew Becroft - open to the public ? free entry)

COST: $10.00 per person or $100 per organisation for day forum (Includes food breaks)

VENUE: Great Lake Centre, Taupo.

Presenters include:

Judge Andrew Becroft ? Principal Youth Court Judge of New Zealand Judge Becroft will be M.C. for the day and will also have a session with the general public in the evening.

Manu Caddie - Whakaaro Pai: A cognitive-behavioural game to identify common thinking errors and positive alternatives for rangatahi aged 12-17 years.

Carl Crafar ? Dealing with youth gangs in New Zealand ? Improving outcomes for young people with particular emphasis on youth gangs. What are youth gangs, how do they come about, how are we dealing with them and positive outcomes already achieved.

Dr. Donna Swift ? Turning point ? a collaborative intervention strategy to address young women?s and girls? violent and anti-social behaviour.

Dave Marshall ? Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Zealand. Mentoring as an intervention to prevent and reduce youth offending.
