Electricity Supply Industry - Free Industry Taster Courses

The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) is holding FREE industry taster courses in the following locations over the July 2012 school holidays:

* Hamilton Taster Course at WINTEC (July dates TBC)

* Christchurch Taster Course at CPIT (July dates TBC)

* Ngati Tuwharetoa Taster Course in Taupo (live-in, 9-13 July) - you must be affiliated to Ngati Tuwharetoa to apply

* 3 Day Tainui Taster Course (July dates TBC) - you must be affiliated to Waikato-Tainui to apply

* Ngaruawahia - One week Waikato-Tainui taster course (residential), Sept/Oct school holidays, dates TBC

* 3 day Waikato-Tainui taster course, April 17-19 - Raglan Area School

* Kawerau taster course (residential), Sept/Oct school holidays dates TBC.

Designed by ESITO, the courses will introduce you to a number of work relevant areas and activities within the industry which could include:

* Knowledge of the NZ electricity supply industry
* Practical job specific activities such as electrical or mechanical workshop projects, making a simple generator, making extension leads, digging trenches, rope work
* Health and safety and wearing personal protection equipment
* Job related activities such as working at heights or abseiling
* A range of site visits to electricity supply companies during the course

All personal protection equipment including safety boots, overalls, hats and glasses will be provided and YOU GET TO KEEP THE BOOTS!
